Where are you located?Clarity Mental Health is located at 1820 Haynes Street in Clarksville, TN. Haynes Street can be accessed via the Memorial Drive ext. and is located near Publix on Madison Street. Please note, we share an office building with Clarksville Internal Medicine & Wellness
-
I'm having a mental health crisis, what should I do?"If you, or someone you love, is experiencing a mental health crisis or having suicidal thoughts, please call 911, the suicide hotline at 1-800-273-8255, or visit your closest emergency room.
-
How long will my first appointment be?Initial appointments can vary in time depending on the individual. Initial evaluations can range from 30-60 minutes, depending on your presenting problems and/or your individual mental health needs. Please plan to arrive for your initial appointment at least 20 minutes in advance to ensure all necessary paperwork has been completed prior to your visit. We book all initial patients for 60 minute time slots; however, sometimes patients have many areas of concern they would like to address and we are unable to address everything during this first 60 minutes. In the event that we are unable to address all of your concerns during your initial appointment, we may need to schedule an additional appointment to complete your initial evaluation.
-
How often do I need to be seen and how long are follow-up appointments? No patient is the same; therefore, follow-up appointments are based off of individual patient needs. If you are prescribed medication, you will be scheduled for follow-up medication management at an interval that best suites your personal needs. Some patients may require weekly follow-ups if close monitoring of medication or therapeutic outcome is required. Appointment intervals typically range from 1-4 weeks, or 3-6 months depending on your individual needs.
-
Will I need to take medication? Not all patients require medication for the treatment of their condition. After a thorough patient evaluation you can discuss treatment options and alternatives with your provider. If you wish to proceed only with therapy, we can help get you in contact with a therapist who can best suite your psychotherapy needs.
-
Can I bring my pet to my appointment? We understand that service dogs and emotional support animals are necessary for some individuals; however, we ask that if you plan to bring your animal with you to your appointment that you keep your animal leashed, or otherwise properly contained. All dogs must remain leashed, and other animals contained throughout the duration of your appointment. Please be mindful of other patients in the waiting area, as some patients may have allergies to pet dander. We also respectfully request that you properly clean up after your pet, and take all pet-related trash with you when you leave.
-
Do you write for emotional support animals? We do not write for emotional support animals. If your dog is trained and certified as a service animal, we will evaluate the situation as needed. Service animals and emotional support animals are different. Please check with the local laws governing the requirements for emotional support animals. While there are websites available to assist you with this type of paperwork, please be aware that local businesses may not be required to honor or accept your animal if it is not properly trained and certified as a service animal.
